Guest guest
http://www.low dose naltrexone.org/further_q_and_a.htm 2nd question [low dose naltrexone] Top Aussie neuro ready to start prescribing LDN - question A Melbourne neurologist has finally agreed to start prescribing LDN. After years of trying to persuade him and offer information, he recently went to the LDN website and did his own research. One of his patients who had miraculous results, also happens to be a friend of mine and that's what changed the doctor's mind. He has had many patients approach him for a script and until now, has refused them all. The doctor said that he hasn't seen any information saying that LDN should not be taken with interferons. I couldn't find it anywhere either when I looked. Could someone please direct me to where it says this so I can give him the correct information. Thanks, Effie
Guest guest
Great news Effie! I'd suggest what swung him initially was not so much the website but your friend's great results. As far the info on LDN and CRABs I haven't looked as I don't have MS, but it has been mentioned many times on here that only really one (Avonex I think) is OK to take with LDN, otherwise the effect is similar to driving a car with one foot on the accelerator and the other on the brake. Many do not read this page that answers many questions. Many also fail to read the entire answer to this question. You most likely won't get the full effect of LDN while on an immune system suppressant. One is trying to suppres the immune system and the other is trying to boost the immune system. Like trying to drive the INDY 500 with one foot pressing the accelerator and the other foot pressing the brake all at the same time. When I spoke to Dr. Bihari about this he said if one takes an immune suppressant drug along with LDN that LDN may not halt disease progression with one taking an immune suppressant. BELOW IS FROM THE LDN WEBSITE Q and A PAGE. Can LDN be taken along with any of the standard medications for multiple sclerosis? It can, and many people with MS do this. However, all of the standard MS drugs, with the probable exception of Copaxone, are immunosuppressant and thus tend to oppose the beneficial immune system upregulation induced by LDN. Therefore, many people with MS try to wean themselves away from these other medications when they find that they are doing well on LDN.
