That's why I said " based on my knowledge of chemistry. " I could be wrong, though, since the effect may be dut to some other mechanism besides the neutralization of acid. What I wrote is an educated guess based on how different chemicals react with each other. If you read my message carefully, you will see that I didn't say that you can't take antacids and mineral supplements with LDN. Rather, I said that if you are and the LDN doesn't seem to be working, that *may* be the reason why. In other words, it's something to consider. Also, when I wrote " mineral supplements " I was mainly thinking of calcium and magnesium supplements, but I used the general term " mineral supplements " because there *may* be other mineral supplements that might react in a similar way. If you don't mind me asking, what supplements are you taking with the LDN? NOTE: I am not a medical professional. I am just passing along what I have learned and how I would apply it, hoping that it might be helpful to other people. Guest guest Posted June 9, 2009 Report Share Posted June 9, 2009 I decided to ask Dr. Skip Lenz about the issue of calcium carbonate and LDN. He said that if calcium carbonate is used as a filler, there is a potential for it to slow the release of the naltrexone from the capsule. As for taking calcium carbonate separately (such as in an antacid or calcium supplement), he said that would not be a problem. Based on this info from Dr. Skip, I retract what I said about not taking LDN with antacids or mineral supplements. I'm sorry if my comments caused anyone to worry needlessly.
