Hi Destiny,

My husband would like to try Rasagiline for his Parkinson's when it

becomes available--the last visit to his neuro it was still not on the

market here that he was aware of. It's quite similar to Selegeline,

which my husband is taking (5 mg per day) along with 1 25/100

carbidopa/levidopa (generic Sinemet). He's also been on 4.5 mg of LDN

for about a year and a half, with no noticeable progression of his PD

during that time. We first noticed symptoms about 3 years ago.

So is your dad functioning as well as he was when he was on the Sinemet?

Maybe something has changed like you say and he doesn't need it anymore.

What happened that makes you say he became intolerant to the Sinemet?

My husband at one time was on 3 levidopa/carbidopa a day. When he went

on Selegeline, he was able to drop down to two a day, then when he

started the LDN, he was able to drop down to 1 a day with no loss of

function. A while ago, he went up to two carbidopa/levidopa a day for

awhile because he was feeling very low energy, but it didn't seem to

help--we ended up deciding he was just low energy for a while because of

a being sick with a bug/ virus.

We are all just feeling our way along.
