I am sorry you are having so much pain. I didn't have the Total

Pancreatectomy, but it took me almost a year to recover from the

Distal Pancreatectomy. Any surgery on the pancreas is a major

surgery. You have only been healing a little over three months. I do

hope and pray that you gradually get stronger, and begin to feel

better. Your body suffered a traumatic insult. Well, you know that,

of course... you are a nurse. And, we may not always be licensed or

registered, but we will always be a nurse.

Today, however, nurses work in several different environments and

roles, they provide information, support, and advocacy to persons to

achieve an optimum level of mental, spiritual, or physical wellness.

Nurses who volunteer for non-profit health organizations can maintain

active status. (In most states, with designated hours). I encourage

any nurse who is interested in pursueing this to contact me. I know I

am in the barrel with projects, and programs, but another one I have

been working on, is the Pancreatitis Nurses Association. I have been

researching other groups, organizations (Diabetes Nurses

Association, Chronic Pain Nurses Association, and others), bylaws,

CEU's, etc., and feel it is very important that this be created. More
