Guest guest
Hi I have had allergies (hay fever) since childhood. Every Spring and Fall when things are pollinating the most, I experience a flare up in symptoms. I don't think that this has gotten any worse or better with LDN. It may be that pollen levels are very high this year, but this Fall I noticed my hayfever symptoms very early. No new allergies have developed. I have been on 3 mg of LDN since February 1, 2006. [low dose naltrexone] Dr McC asks if LDN has helped allergies or made worse Dr. McCandless asked me to post this here and she is wanting to know if you who have allergies, if LDN has made allergies worse and how much worse and how long have you been on LDN? Have you developed any new allergies since starting LDN, what new allergies developed and how severe? If your allergies have improved on LDN please say so and how long you've been on LDN?If you had allergies when you started LDN and your allergies have not changed please post and also say how long you've been on LDN. Guest guest
, I have been on LDN since the end of 6/06. Several people I know, my kids included recently were having their allergies flare with the change in season. I think my allergies were better than usual. I only got a sore throat (which others had as well). I wasn't giving the credit to LDN until I read this, now I am wondering. -- [low dose naltrexone] Dr McC asks if LDN has helped allergies or made worse Dr. McCandless asked me to post this here and she is wanting to know if you who have allergies, if LDN has made allergies worse and how much worse and how long have you been on LDN? Guest guest
My sister told me that she had immediate cessation of her allergy symptoms the day after she started LDN. Guest guest
6 1/2 years ago, I had allergy tests done. I didn't think I had any, but turned out I had the usual wheat, corn, sugar, and dairy. They told me that I had internal symptoms. LDN hasn't seemed to change that. Guest guest
Pre-LDN, every year sinuses/allergies/hay fever? would be a nuisance. Since starting ldn December of 2003, no flare-ups with the allergies 'at all.' LDN?? more than likely. Also, a friend who started on ldn 2 weeks ago for her RA has said it's helped her allergies tremendously. ?? Sigh...yawn...back to sleep now. :-) Cap'n Caveman
Guest guest
, I have had problems with sinuses during the fall and early winter for many years, but developed allergies about 4 years ago. All of this was before LDN. Someone recommended grape seed @ 100 mg per day. It solved the problem beautifully! Being on LDN has not changed the improvement in the allergies or sinuses...but I continue to use the grape seed daily. I have been on LDN for four months. > > > > Dr. McCandless asked me to > post this here and she is > wanting to know if you who > have allergies, if LDN has > made allergies worse and > how much worse and how > long have you been on > LDN? Guest guest
I do want to go to my old allergist. I had the prick tests done 2/2003, 1 & 2 months before starting LDN 4/03. I do believe I tolerate chocolate much better now... I've ran some tests along the way. When I first started it would trigger SX and I stopped, they went away. Last November I started eating chocolate after halloween and it wasn't even giving me much in the way of SX. I stopped in February. I also had chocolate here and there in July... I think all my allergies may have changed, another batch of those prick tests will show. But Chocolate has triggered many flares.. going back into the 70s. I also used to get headaches before big storms, it's been a long while since I got them. I used to get them like clockwork, could predict storms.. but not any more.. that's also since 4/03 [low dose naltrexone] Dr McC asks if LDN has helped allergies or made worse Dr. McCandless asked me to post this here and she is wanting to know if you who have allergies, if LDN has made allergies worse and how much worse and how long have you been on LDN? Guest guest
I have also been amazed to find that while everyone around me is suffering from bad allergies this year, mine have been minimal or non-existent. I started on LDN in April. I'm glad to hear that the Dr. is looking at this and I would be happy to answer any questions she has about my allergies and LDN experience. Guest guest
I do have seasonal allergies in the spring and fall. I am having the stuffy nose and itchy eyes but I don't think it is much different than before LDN. Peg
Guest guest
December will make three years that I'm on LDN at 3 mg. Before LDN I never had allergies. Since being on it, however, I sometimes become itchy, particularly in the Spring.
