Guest guest
I have pls was first dxed with possible ms then als and finally pls,but also have cervical neruopthy .Pls tends to cause problems in the cervical spine for anyone that may have a week disc there. The first mistake made in my case was I was refered to a Neruo Surgeon right off.My emgs were abnormal and all he could find was a slightly buldged c3 c4 area disk. His won words were you should not have all these symptoms from my findings but because it all I can find lets do this surgery.Of course I agreed my main concern was getting back to work as a Correction Officer as soon as possible. To make a long story short I never worked again.I was only 46 years old at the time .Anyway the search for ms began no lessions only a slightly elavated protein level in spinal fluid. Then the proof of ALS began. My emgs continued to be abnormal but not the atrophy associated with ALS . So I spent over 3 years being watched to rule out ALS and finally PLS was dxed.and that dx holds today . Guess the moral to my long boreing story is STAY AWAY FROM NERUO SURGEONS!!!
