Guest guest
Hey Lindie, I started with the ridges, and followed with the nail fungus, but on my right hand. I find this peculiar, because it is only on two fingers. I tried a topical fungus med., non RX, and it helped a little, but not enough. It took me awhile, but I told my MD, and she did a trial on Spornex. It works..I do have to say, that it is heck on the liver and kidneys. I get profiles done regularly. I have a woman friend ,who has it on her toe nails, but could not tolerate the meds. She finally decided to paint her toe nails. She fells a lot better that way. Good luck, and keep us updated. Guest guest
This was really intersting. Until I read your post, I hadnt thought about it, but last year (a few months before I got sick) I had some kind of fungus on my foot that just wouldnt go away. It took a few months before it finally disappeared, but I had to go to the doctor for it and got a prescription because nothing over the counter would work. I just noticed that it looks like I may have another one, but I am not sure. Also, I now see that I do have ridges in my fingernails, but I never heard of that being associated with a yeast infection. Could someone explain if this really does have any significance?? Thanks -- Michele U. --- Lindie4@... wrote: > From: Lindie4@... > > Has anyone here had a toenail fungus that lasted > years and just got worse and > worse? Guest guest
Try a good salt water soak. I got rid of mine like that. It takes awhile but is non toxic too. Treat your shoes too.Spray vinegar or something like that to kill germs so you don't get re infected. Also soak your socks in vinegar or something, to kill the germs or you can re infect yourself...washing doesn't kill it. Guest guest
Jacqui, Don't be discouraged! Old toxins will seemingly fight back, but it is a death rattle! This sounds normal for such an effective treatment. But, never forget that your attitude & beliefs are half of any health struggle. Have faith! Fight back! I have had systemic candida all of my life, I imagine. It almost killed me with pneumonia. If it had happened two years earlier Diflucan wouldn't have existed to save my life. Candida tortures me daily in lesser ways. So, I empathise with you. I am proud of you for getting as far as the treatment you are taking. It is one of my goals. Good luck, and hold on! Currently > I am off drugs while I do the ozone. > Jacqui Hi Jacqui, In addition to ozone therapy, a raw vegan diet is also important in ridding your body of candida. Candida is indeed a stubborn problem and taking antiobiotics just makes it worse. First of all, to heal yourself naturally, you will have to move towards a vegan, raw diet. I am not sure what your diet is now but you will definitely have to eleminate all sugars for a short time, even fruit sugars. Wolfe in his book " The Sunfood Diet Success System " recommends lots of direct sunlight on the skin (yeasts and fungi are destroyed by sunlight), a specific diet of raw vegetables (mostly greens....no potatos, carrots, or beets), green juices, occasional soaked seeds and nuts, young coconut, low sugar fruits, and 1-3 pieces of sugar fruit (if you need it and feel comfortable with it). When sweet fruits are eaten, they should be " masked " (blended or mixed) with cold-pressed oil (flax, olive, sunflower) and/or green-leafy vegetables (lettuce or tender young greens are excellent). If cooked foods are eaten, they should be non-starchy vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus, etc). He lists the following as excellent low sugar fruits: avocado, red bell pepper, cranberry, cucumber (very healing), grapefruit, red jalapeno, lemon/lime, okra(very healing),squash, tomatos, tomatillo, zuchinni. I would also suggest acidophilus supplements to replenish the bacteria that was destroyed by the antibiotics. From my experience, something like Monistat or Diflucan are temporary quick fixes and you need to root out the problem by creating a healthy environment in your body through the proper diet and rebuilding the healthy bacteria in your intestines. Wolfe recommends following a cleansing and intestinal rebuilding program such as Arise & Shine http://www.risingstarlc.com/ashome.htm. As Wolfe says " A candida condition can be remedied by lots of sunshine on the skin, colon cleansing, a rebuilding program, the elemination of cooked starch and antibiotics, and the important dietary changes mentioned. " Good luck! Shayla

Guest guest
Chemo and radiation destroys one's immune system. So try to build it up again with quality Food Medicines. In the meantime, you might try the following germ killers. 1) Colloidal/Ionic Silver http://www.csprosystems.com/ http://www.wateroz.com/ Do a search on: 2) Zapper 3) Rife Instrument You might also contact http://www.herbalhealer.com and see what she says. I think it was she who found yeast in cancer victims and saved over 25 lives. But the FDA stopped her, saying that what she was doing (looking into the microscope to find germs) was illegal. I read this story on a website. You might also want to balance your pH (drinking fresh organic vegetable juices, etc.). Someone on this list mentioned a product that instantly regulates your pH. Does anyone remember what it was? To soothe your husbands' throat, try squeezing lemon juice and mix it with honey to form a thick gooey mix. Then, slowly drip this drop-by-drop down his throat. ---This worked for me for a sore throat. My guess is that the lemon provides Vitamin C to help my Immune Cells, and also provided an acidic environment that germs hate. The honey may make the Lemon Medicines stick to your throat. Lemon or Grapefruit You can also cut up a whole lemon (cut both tips off first) and mash it in a blender (I use slow speed) until it is fairly mushy. You can add orange juice to sweeten it, and add Ascorbate to increase Vitamin C. Drink the juice, and chew on the small skin pieces. It will give your husband not only Vitamin C but the bioflavanoids from lemon peel to help build stronger tissues and Immune System. I read on the web that grapefruit is OK in place of lemon. The above is only a quick start, which may help your husband's troat to feel more comfortable. You'll have to start building up his Immune System next with powerful Designer Foods, because it is a STRONG IMMUNE SYSTEM that helps keep us healthy and disease-free. Guest guest
<<My husband has lost a lot of weight as he has it in his > >esophagus and its extremely painful.>> Dr. uses the 14 day mostly zapping schedule in the " Syncrometer Science Laboratory Manual " for her cancer patients. She no longer recommends regular zapping for her cancer patients, but the much more effective and specific " plate zapping " . You can zap the upper esophagus, the lower esophagus and the esophagus-stomach junction if you have the " digestive tract slide kit " . After 14 days, she adds the 21 day program as outlined in " The Cure For All Advanced Cancers " while continuing with the plate zapping. Guest guest
My wife has Cancer of the Head and Neck. She is in pretty bad shape as it has spread to the Lungs. A friend who is a Nurse had suggested something which some of her patients take and helps them. It's Noni juice. I have got one called Tahitian Noni juice. My wife just started it one week back.heard it takes 10 days to work. It reduces your pain, reduces the side effects of Chemo and also help in dissolving the tumors. Can give it a try.My wife feels slightly better but I am not sure yet if it's the Noni juice working. Do some sraech on the web.You will get more info. Thanks! Guest guest
, Hello and welcome to the group! This group has the greatest bunch of folks that I am sure will help ya out.... I for one, have a six year old step-son with a rare form of Candidia. I can relate to everything you have said thus far (and unfortunately more).....we too had been thru it all and, we were ready to pull our hair out not knowing what to do until, I found this list and started to do some studying on my own. The best advice I can give you at this point is: ASK QUESTIONS, there is never a stupid question when it comes to the health of your child. STUDY: look into everything, read up on the info your are given on here, the internet has a wealth of info on Candidia and, if you do not understand what you read ASK QUESTIONS. I think it is great that you have found a doctor that can help you...alot of us on here have had some bad experiences with doctors. You might want to try looking into other antifungals and rotating them. Sadly Candidia is a very smart monster and will quickly become resistant to antifungals, hence the antifungal will no longer work, symptoms will return. Therefore it is often best for most people to take an antifungal for 4 to 7 days then switch to another kind. For instance, we have (my son) on Oil Of Oregano for four days, we switch to Capryl for the next four days, then we switch to Grapefruit Seed Extract for the next four and so on and so on....We also have him on a multi B vitamin, Flax oil, Vitamin C, Zinc, and Probiotics. Stick to the diet, and avoid sugar!!! Sugar will only feed the yeast. Can he eat grains? How does he do with wheat? Does he have a problem with constipation? Keeping the bowels working at least once a day is very vital, expelling the toxins from the body will help more than you may realize. Candidia can cause the body to stop absorbing vitamins, minerals, nutrients which of course lead to other complications. has hypothyroid due to his Candidia. How about brain fog, does he wake up in a daze or seem " spacey " at times? Does his symptoms get worse around certain things like perfumes, gasoline? Check into multi chemical sensitivity, see if this is a problem with your son. I hope this has helped you .....I know how hard it is to watch a child go thru this....just remember you are not alone! Best wishes to ya... Angie
Guest guest
Hi Georgia! Thanks for the heads up on the Culturelle. The efficacy of probiotics really is a concern, as a recent study found 1/3 were ineffective. Did you see Mercola's article on this? http://www.mercola.com/2001/jul/11/probiotics.htm I don't know if we have Savon stores here in Alberta. I looked in the phone book, but could not see any listed. I will have to check the Culturelle out with my local health food stores. Kind regards, Trudy From: queenmama85@h... Date: Fri Oct 12, 2001 2:30 pm Subject: candidas Dear Trudy, My husband had candidas and I found a pro biotic on the internet called Culturelle. You can order it from the manufacturer or buy it at Savon Drug Stores, which is what I did and my husband quit taking the Nystatin. I don't know if it cured him but he has never been on the Nystatin again, and he is doing a lot better. It is a strain of lactobacillus bacteria and you start taking two capsules a day for 15 days then one a day, they told me that it takes about a week to 10 days to really kick in but it is the only bacteria strain that can survive stomach acid. Best of health to you. Georgia

Guest guest
We've seen a yeast flare with treatments that target virus. Do you think that may be happening to you with the ldn? > > Can anyone explain to me why LDN activates yeast? >
Guest guest
I don't think LDN activates it. It just will not be effective if there is a yeast problem and so it is important to address. > > Can anyone explain to me why LDN activates yeast? >
Guest guest
> > > > Can anyone explain to me why LDN activates yeast? > > > ========= Dr. McCandless through her research of LDN with Autistic patients and their parents with MS, Crohn's, CFS, etc has found that LDN can activate an already underlying yeast in one's system. She might can explain the why of this.
Guest guest
Thanks for posting this reply ! This possibly explains why I have had a flare up with my MS even while taking LDN and why I'm needing more like 4.5 mg. rather than just the 3 mg. Been working on ridding this candida problem for a while with limited success. Where can we find more info on the link between candida + LDN ineffectivenes ?
