Jody,

The ratio on SCD seems to be a more even distribution...I know Toren isn't

getting as much carbs now, because he's not on any grains. Nuts have a more

even distrbution (more fat and protein than grains), and the waffles and muffins

which come from nuts, are his bread. I believe this more even distribution

between carbs, proteins, and fats is one reason why SCD is a superior

nutritional source.

When you say 'standard' do you mean SCD standard or SAD standard?

Anyway, I was asked what the percentages should be.

The " standard " recommendation is:

50-55% carbs

30% fat

15-20% protein

" When you say 'standard' do you mean SCD standard or SAD standard? "

When I say " standard " , I am referring to the information I received from a good

nuritionist/dietician.

I think the SAD (standard American diet) is a lot higher in fat than most people

think, especially the bad fats (hydrogenated oils).

SAD is lopsided in carbohydrates also (potatoes, pasta, refined wheat

products)... do we know the ratio for SCD?... it'd be interesting.

,

To the best of my knowledge what I posted is accurate for SCD.

Elaine never gave any guidelines about the percentages of

fat/carbs/protein.

The standard guideline is just that. A guideline.

Some people may be fine with more protein. Others need less protein.

I will see if I can get any more guidance on this issue.

Dear Jody,

May be giving too much protein we are way above this 15-20% (thanks to possible

bad advice from sources that no nothing about DAN or SCD). I trust that since

you guys have more experience please give some to us........in light of the

success we have had in 3 short weeks, we do not want to screw this up. We do

not see DAN until end of April......please help.

Thank you for your patience....I am learning.....
