Guest guest
, The final product will still have cow's milk in it if you use cow's milk yogurt as the starter. To make dairy free yogurt, you'll need to use the ProGurt Yogurt starter. But I believe that it is 1/4 cup of an APPROVED cow's milk yogurt to make 1 quart of yogurt. Please check Elaine's website on exact directions on how to use commercial yogurt as a starter. http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info Jody mom to -7 and -9 SCD 1/
Guest guest
Hi Jody, Thanks for the reply. The problem with starters is that i'm in Australia so am quite restricted on what is available. The email address to enquire about the Progurt starter at GI ProHealth website seems to be bouncing emails. Is the Yogourmet starter diary free? Also when i use these starters, do i also have to add the probiotic cultures seperately or are they included in the culture? Thanks for all the help, Jody G. wrote: > , > > The final product will still have cow's milk in it if you use cow's > milk yogurt as the starter. > > To make dairy free yogurt, you'll need to use the ProGurt Yogurt starter. > > But I believe that it is 1/4 cup of an APPROVED cow's milk yogurt to > make 1 quart of yogurt. Guest guest
The Yogourmet starter is not dairy free. When you use a yogurt starter, there is no need to add additional cultures. All of the beneficial bacteria needed is already in the starter. I'm not sure how much the shipping would be, but I am pretty certain that Custom Probiotics ships internationally. http://www.customprobiotics.com Look for the yogurt starter and order that.
