Should I continue with LDN?

I have been on LDN at 3.5 mg for soon to be 5 months and for the past

several weeks I have experienced more MS syptoms than I did before. I

had to quit Betaseron in April of 2006 and started LDN in May. Maybe I

didn't give the Betaseron enough time to get out of my system before

starting the LDN. I would like someone opinion. I would ask my doctor

but he wants me on the CRABS drugs, he didn't like it when I said that

I was going to quit the Betaseron.

This question is for the females:

When its that time of the month do any of you notice a major change in

your MS syptoms and emotions. Mine seem to be getting much worse here

lately.Just wondered if anyone else went through that also.

Has anyone ever heard of KAWALLA? Kind of sounds like its the same or

almost the same as LDN.

Thanks for any input.

Back down to 3.0mg. When I started LDN I tarted having 2 menses cycles a month

and still do. The PMS is much stronger now. Something that might help with the

PMS is Adrenucleo by Enzyme Process. Do a google search for Enzyme Process.

There's one for the UK and USA

Experiencing increased symptoms for 5 to 6 months is not unusual. The Beta

probably had your immune system way low.

Make sure you are following a Sugar free, dairy free, soy free, wheat free,

gluten free diet to combat any candida you might have and use the supplements

listed below to compliment the diet. Supplements alone will not do the trick

against candida, you must change your diet also.

Many of these recommended by Dr. McCandless, the Autism doc who uses LDN for

Autism.

A good quality probiotic(acidophilus)-take 4 per day.

Lauricidin(do a google search)

Oil Of Oregano-take as directed

Olive Leaf Extract-take as directed

ViraStop or

L-Lysine 500mg-take as directed

Garlinase(do google search)-take 3 in AM and 3 in PM and along with Garlinase

take Chlorofresh by Nature's Way. Chlorofresh is a great source of Alfalfa.

http://www.naturesway.com Warning, Chlorofresh will cause stools to be dark

green so don't panic.

On diet and supplements you get a detox and experience hives, eczema, headache,

extra fatigue, fever, nausea, etc, welcome these symptoms as healing.

regarding question for females..I have noticed the 1st day of my

period I get kinda dizzy and off balance like my 1st symptoms i

experienced when diagnosed, then my period after I was diagnosed I

felt sick again, I can tell when I am going to start because I feel

off kilter the day before and day of...I asked my neurologist if this

had some correlation and she said none she heard of but I think there

is some kind of connection with hormone levels mainly because I do

feel a change in my symptoms during that time....hope I answered the

question without being too personal!LOL

I think your right there is a connection between hormones and MS. Cause I know that I have felt weird that last day or 2 and that is not me. I will be glad when it goes away. Of course I wish that the MS would go away too.

Thanks for the info.

My time of month symptoms are always worse...I try to wait it out and

not panick- everything can change in a day.... this summer has been

hard on me also- more and more humidity- it is getting discouraging-

but I know to wait for fall before making any major changes-

I had been on Betaseron for 15 years and decided to try LDN. I was off BS for four days when I started LDN. I had positive results in less than two weeks. Somewhere on the site and I don't remember where, I think one of the docs wrote about this, but he said that often you WILL have more symptoms show up before you have positive results and that is not necessarily bad. I have read so much and I can't remember who said this. Maybe someone else remembers. Maybe it was in Anne's book (is it Anne?) So, , don't fret. Have faith in that which you leaped to.

Re: "often you WILL have more symptoms show up before you have positive results and that is not necessarily bad". I'm holding tight to this idea. So far, lots of increase in symptoms and I'm trying to keep it in perspective. Keep saying it, people!

Hi Kathy,

May I ask what you were experiencing in the way of symptoms and their severity - before and after commencing on the natural progesterone/testosterone bio-identical cream formulation?

Regards,

Cris

8c. Re: Should I continue with LDN? Posted by: "Kathy Lintzenich" mykittypaws@... mykittypaws Date: Thu Aug 24, 2006 3:19 pm (PDT)I take bio-identical hormones in the form of a cream and it helps. It is a natural cream with progesterone and testosterone. Most women with ms have NO FREE TESTOSTERONE in their bodies. Testosterone converts into Vitamin D and it helps symptoms of ms. Progesterone helps make myelin. These two hormones give you energy, increased muscle mass, increased libido, bone density, reduced chance of heart disease and an overall sense of well-being. You should think about a saliva test to see where you are and also do the 4xday cortisol test. Even if you don't feel like spending the money on the test, a little bit of supplementation will do you no harm. I am guessing you are over 30 because ms usually strikes women in their mid-thirties so progesterone levels are declining by this age. Hope that helps as I did not intend for such a lengthy message! Best, Kathy

I think it has helped my mood, migraines, feel certain it is improving my bone density along with my exercise routine and my husband is a happier man!!! My very first symptom of ms was loss of libido and I don't feel uncomfortable talking about what may help others. I am sure many people suffer from sexual problems with ms and other diseases like diabetes. I was a newlywed when this happened and we knew something was drastically wrong. I was not given a diagnosis for years. I was told to go see a psychiatrist. My neuro said "I would take a million dollar life insurance policy out for you". My GP said " You have a better chance of winning the lottery than having ms." Well guess what? I'm on hormone cream and I never won the lottery! They meant well but this is just the way things happen sometimes. I just didn't fit the profile according to their "medical expertise"

It is really worthwhile investigating the hormone thing. It is very curious that women manifest ms in their mid-thirties quite often. If you don't want to do the cream, you can take 7-Keto DHEA. It does not convert into unwanted hormones in the body that could potentially cause reproductive cancers. Make sure it is 7-Keto DHEA and not plain DHEA. Best,Kathy
