Guest guest
WHAT WONDERFUL NEWS.tHE CHANGE SURE DID A GREAT DEAL WITH HELPING YOUR CHANGES TOO!! GREAT NEWS! the NEW YEAR WILL BE A BIG BLAST FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY:):) lOVE & HUGS, GRANDMOMbev finally some good news! Ashton met with his new GI dr today (now that we have moved to Kansas) and he finally gave us some good news. Ashton has been vomiting a LOT lately--3 times a day. Luckily it is all liquid since he is only g-tube fed. But it was getting really bad so we went to Kansas City to see the dr. He told us to stop adding Polycose to his formula because it slows down digestion and was making him overfull. And since we stopped the polycose, he has thrown up only one time! AND this dr doesn't believe he has ulcerative colitis--he thinks the past GI dr misdiagnosed him so we will do another colonoscopy to be sure but that means one less medicine if that is the case. He also took him off of Reglan which was SUPPOSED to stop the vomiting (which it failed at miserably). So that means 3 less times a day to give him meds!! YAY! Then the speech therapist today told us that Ashton made more progress in the last 3 weeks than she has ever seen in her professional life. He is babbling up a storm and is trying to talk. Go little Ashton! --mom to Ashton, 21 months (should be 19 months) ------------------------------------------- The opinions and information exchanged on this list should IN NO WAY be construed as medical advice. Guest guest
, Wow! This is all such good news. I am so thrilled for Ashton -- and for you because it's such a relief whenever you can reduce number of meds! had a check up Dec. 30 -- ups and downs with that one -- but today I got his sputum culture results and we've finally gotten rid of his mucoid PA -- it's been there since 1998! I hope as 2003 unfolds, the good news continues! Guest guest
, Where did you move to in Kansas? We are located 14 miles East of Manhattan, but go to Children's Mercy Hopital and Clinic in KCMO. We see Dr. for GI and he seems to be very good. In fact, I had to call him just a couple of days ago about Adam's reflux, to increase the prilosec. I'm very thrilled for you. I know personally how wonderful it is when the little one stops or slows down the throw-up. (I had to change clothes 4 times Saturday evening before Adam went to bed...) Keep up the good work. Guest guest
Where near Manhattan? I went to Kansas State from 90-94 and I loved that town. I lived near Aggieville (which of course was fun for a college student). I am sure I am going to be going up to Manhattan for the football games next year. I understand about all the laundry loads. Gets real old and you are afraid to go out of the house for fear that he will puke all over someone else! Ashton's on so much prilosec now--there is no way he has any acid left in his tummy! --
