Some of these kids have sensory issues with foods. It's not the taste, but

the textures and chewing that make them reject the foods. When he was 3 yrs

old, my son overcame this by working 2x/wk with an Oral-Motor therapist and

an ABA-style " Food tasting and Desensitizing " program.

That's interesting. I have never felt that my son fell into this category of

being super sensitive orally. I do know that he can't stand the texture of

meat. He is uncanny in detecting meat too. I blend cooked meat in the

blender or use baby food meat and hide it and if I put " too much " in he

won't eat it. (Even if he doesn't know I put ANY meat in the food.) It's

weird. He is pretty high functioning and if *we* are eating meat he says

things like, " Are you eating a dead cow? " or " Is that a dead chicken? " My 21

month old daughter is completely the opposite. If she could, she would eat

ONLY meat, she is the most carnivorous child I have ever seen.
