Guest guest
Does anyone know the best time to give CLO? I can't tell if my son reacts negatively to it or not. I have been giving it with other supplements so I don't know. Also, He has such loose stools and I know CLo will cause this anyway so I am worried. Any suggestions? thanks
Guest guest
either too much or your system is not used to it yet. [ ] CLO Question Giving low dose CLO to me and daughter per Drs orders. Any reason diarrhea would result? We are new to this...is it just adjustment or should I be more concerned? Guest guest
Liz I found in the archives that you used the commercial line of ProEFA in 2007 in very low dosages and for some reason you were nervous about it - but did you notice loose stools then? Also you asked the other day about borage seed vs primrose oil? (are you using either as well to create an Omega 3/6 ratio) If for whatever reason I didn't want to use the formulas that worked for most -I'd use coromega over cod liver oil as it's higher EPA- which is better than high DHA for most. I know you say " low dosages " but what is the exact dosage you are using of cod liver oil as unlike ProEFA and the other oils most of us use that work -with cod liver oil you have to worry about too high dosages of vitamin A since it's found naturally in fish oil made from the liver of the fish. Just to remind -here's why most use Omega 3/6 formulas http://www.cherab.org/information/historyEFA.html =====
Guest guest
Understand, since our whole deal is wierd and I have yet to find a nutritional captain for our ship, everything I try is low dose. Why add extras if I already know our guts are having difficulty processing stuff? Back when you looked, the low dose I described was one Kirkman CLO pill and not even every day. I was doing that and 1 proefa intermittently...you know, in lieu of fish dinners. ProEPA does not do much for us here. I did move more toward the formula on this board and dropped the CLO for my son but have pursued CLO for my daughter (no speech stuff, generally NT but celiac) because of A and D deficiencies. In spite of CLO and lots of sun in summer her D level went down. We are still working on this issue with her. My level is horrifically low yet I feel the best I have in years (imagine what it was when I was not looking) so the pursuit is on for me as well with CLO. Also, we can't wait for summer. For reasons as yet unknown my son, the speech guy, responds best to flaxseed oil. Honestly , this is one of the many things that makes me wonder if a big part of his personal deal and his difference from the typical fish oil responders is the added bonus, if you will, of some sort of environmental toxicity. It may be some sort of allergy to the fish oil, the lemon...not sure. I keep coming back to fish oil just in case though as for others sometimes it is a matter of healing the gut enough to respond better and he has shown some response. If we could stabilize the gut better we'd likely see more barring allergy to it. For my kids, both are low in A so, for now the typical concerns do not apply. I hope we graduate up to that concern to tell you the truth. The oil thing, I was told by a doc, was a concern as we are autoimmune folks BUT that may or may not be the case. Are we primarily autoimmune folks or metal toxic or something else, chicken or egg...you see where I am headed and why I ask a LOT of strange questions here and elsewhere. I am not a rebel...just in a strange land with no map. I greatly appreciate this message as all the good fish oil stuff is in one spot for me as we test this out. Sadly, my pediatrician, whose kids are on the same diet as mine, told me initially that he thought fish oil was fine to use for both kids but to expect diarrhea. This is the first diarrhea we have seen on any fish oil. It may just be brand. I am so conservative with all of this and actually the only one with current CLO related issues is me (see what I mean by haunted house). My daughter's thing lessened sort of but something is wierd. One rung at a time up 's Ladder. > > Liz I found in the archives that you used the commercial line of > ProEFA in 2007 in very low dosages and for some reason you were > nervous about it - but did you notice loose stools then?
