Guest guest
You may want to try Nuthera Hypoallergenic instead of SuperNuthera tropical fruit - it is a concentrated and may be easier to take initially than the tropical fruit. If you give us a call we are happy to exchange the product so you have something to try that may work. Zinc should be taken by itself at night for most kids. Zinc does tend to bond and may not be well absorbed taken with other minerals. Since most children with ASD are low on zinc and zinc is important to add at the right time. Most Probiotics and enzymes can be taken together. You should check with each manufacturer to confirm - we have reviewed our line and all the Probiotics and enzymes can be taken together - we have a tech paper on our sight for those interested. Charcoal can bind with the " good " as well as the " bad " in the gut. It is very effective but probably should be taken a couple of hours away from medication or most supplements (you will need to check on each product with the manufacturer to be sure). On the vegicaps - vs the gelatin. There is not a great difference with the rate of either form of capsules dissolving in the gut. We prefer the vegicap. I know this is complicated - hope this helped. Guest guest
Poor Spencer! It takes so much effort to get it down...and then it returns. lol. Dave commented sufficiently on the probiotics. I don't see that as making anyone ill though. Zinc should be given away from other minerals, however, zinc can also upset the stomach. If you give zinc by itself and he doesn't feel well, maybe give a smaller dose and work up. Magnesium should be giving away from other minerals or food as well, if you can manage it. The only other thing that comes to mind is the B vitamins...especially niacin. B vitamins are often better tolerated with food so they don't upset the stomach. MANY people, healthy NT people, complain about this. The niacin is especially gross because I would keep " burping " up vitamin B gas. Did Spencer have food with the NuThera? On this note, some companies are coming out with a time-released B-complex that is supposed to help remedy this problem. I agree with Dave on the activated charcoal. It will adsorb anything carbon based, so just plan on it sucking up whatever is in the gut and dose accordingly. I give everything with breakfast or lunch including enzymes, except magnesium and zinc which go inbetween meals and not at the same time, and the probiotic and amitryptiline at bedtime. .
