Guest guest
For those who would like to know, celeriac is a different plant from celery. It is a herb. Both its roots and leaves are high in salicylates. I do not know the number, but it is in the high group which would probably mean something of 0.5 to 10.0 mg per 100 g of the product. I was using it for my son's diet, as I thought it was just a variation of celery, which is free of salicylates, but NO, it is high. Kale has not been researched for this data according to my dietitian, at least she has no data on it. Neither chinese vegetables apart from bac choy and chinese cabbage, which both of them are OK. Chinese broccoli would be similar to broccoli (moderate or high 0.65). Other chinese vegies are not known for this effect. There is a company who manufactures cooking oils without the antioxidants, the name of the company is Hain. It used to be available in Australia, but it is not imported any more. I will see if I can get it from the USA or the country of origin via the net or mail order. If your child is sensitive to antioxidants, you may want to try these, too. Sunflower and safflower oils are very low salicylate. Olive oil is very high salicylate, does not matter if it is virgin or not.
