Guest guest
Hi. Me again. I have been going to PT for 3 weeks. They do an altra sound massage on my shoulders and bottom of my neck. Then they do a hand massage. Plus some exercises. They said that the muscles in my neck were very hard and large and that they are laying on a nerve. That nerve is why I can't move my arm. Does this make sense to anyone? Also, do you think this type of therapy can really help? thanks again for any input. Dianne
Guest guest
BC (before Chiari) I had PT and ultra sounds and it helped me. I went 3x a week. Well, actually, I was having chiari problems then just didn't know it and not the bad things like now.......falling, LOC from seizures, fainting, nausea, vomiting, etc. A muscle stimulator helped also. I also had a Tens unit that the insurance paid for. I quit working in 1990 because of bad headaches, muscle pain in back, etc. Then went back to work in 1997 when my hubby got sick and had to go on disability. It was worse then ever so that is when I got the Tens unit. I couldn't sit there all day because the pain was unbearable in all my back muscles and my neck and headaches worse. It was a godsend. I wore it 24 hours a day because I couldn't sleep at night because of the pain either. We now have a dual king electric bed that is also wonderful. Thank goodness because after 3 months I became allergic to the glue on the electrodes of the Tens Unit, even the non-allergic ones. The only thing I would say is that 3 weeks is not enough to see much progress. I went for 6 months and after I quit had problems again. But as you probably know, we all respond differently to the same thing. I had a physical theripist that worked on me manually with her hands, then muscle stimulation, ultra sound and massage. Other PT I tried didn't and it didn't help as much.....i.e. the excercises, but then again it wasn't my arm. Good luck and hugs, Bobbie Angleton, Tx Your Opinion Please > Hi. Me again.
