a,

You are right about the movie "Bad Santa" .....it was a little rough for me to watch....and I am 60 yrs old .....I was very disappointed.....I love Bob Thornton and couldn't wait for it to come out on dvd. I didn't laugh once through the whole movie, and disgusted that they used the F word so much when it would have been much better without it.

I watched "Scarey Movie 3 " tonight and though it was much funnier .....looking back ....I would not think it suitable for a 15 year old with serious emotional problems to be watching ...although my daughter has let her 12 an 13 year olds watch it .

Re: need some opinions

Okay, I am wanting everyone's opinion on this because I am trying not to be an over protective parent. Our oldest son Justen was here for the weekend, which I must say went VERY well. Anyway, he happened to mention to my nephew that the one thing that he likes better about the group home is that they let him watch R rated movies. I asked him exactly what movies he was talking about and he told us all about the movies Scary movie three and also one called Bad Santa. Now I have not seen these movies but what he described along with what some friends of mine told me was some pretty sick stuff for a 15 year old kid with serious emotional delays to be seeing. Also, he is supposed to take 11/2 mgs of risperdol at night. When they first had him start he was taking a 1 mg tablet and then they cut a second one in half. Last Monday when I took him to the med DR he changed it to a 3mg tablet so they just have to cut one pill in half and that is it. When I tried to give him his meds Sat night he argued with me for about an hour that I wasn't giving him enough and that he needed a whole one with the half one. I read the bottle and it said just what the DR had told me. SOOO I called the group home and the man that answered said that he doesn't know about the meds but that he will put a note on Justen's chart that he can't watch R rated movies. I told him that I had counted the pills and he is six short so YES the HAD been over medicating him. Also I told him that seeing how my son is 15 years old I am pretty sure that it is against the law for them to let him watch nasty movies without having parental consent which I told him they shouldn't bother asking for in the future because they wouldn't get it. Do you guys think I am over reacting? I know that I have been very emotional lately and wonder if I am making a bigger deal of this than it is.a "The LUPIES Store" Come check out our store...http://www.cafepress.com/thelupies"The LUPIES Web Page"http://www.itzarion.com/lupusgroup.html"The LUPIES online photo albums!" I, apparently the group home supervisors agree with you. I thought they were both rated R but I guess the Scarey movie 3 is rated PG 13.Even so they were appalled that this staff person had let the kids watch it and the kids all said that Justen was telling the truth about both movies. They said that the staff people had all been told that they had to be more strict about the movies they watch because I had said something about it. I feel like it shouldn't just be this way because of what I said but because it was WRONG. Oh well, he will rat them out if they let him watch more so time will tell if they got the message or not.
