Guest guest
Carol here. First of all I would like to say thank you for all of the responses to my first post. It is magnificent how supportive and informative this group is. What I would like to know now is if anyone has ever heard of the doc putting slits in the maderma instead of a patch. My NSG says he developed a procedure where he goes in and slits the maderma then checks with ultra-sound to see if it released the restriction in the CSF. If it odes then he stops there, if not than a full graft is done. He said that there is less chance of serious infection that way. At first it sounded really cool, but the more I read about leaks I wonder how it could work. If anybody has heard of this or experienced it please write me back. I want to beagle to make an informed decision about surgery and if there is a less evasive procedure that may work yippee!!! Thanx so much Carol
