My wife had what I would call a siezure. We were lieing down together

for awhile talking. We stood up walked a few steps to the door and

she stopped, got weak then collasped. I caught her she shook

uncrontrolably and locked up. She came out of it confused but did not

know what had just happened. I think she should go to the hospital

now but she insist her apointment tommorrow is soon enough. We have

had some rough days lately. She has not been doing well and I am

worried sick about her. What is happening and what am I supposed to

do? Any suggestions please.

Good morning to you both. I am so sorry Rhealene is going through this. I

can empathize with you as I have seizures as well. I have never found the

cause of the seizures, but Tegretol has been the best medication for me in

controlling them.

I can tell you this, if they are hormonally caused, Rhealene will need to

have her blood/urine drawn within about an hour of the seizure otherwise her

levels will return to normal and you will never be able to catch the " spike "

in the hormones. Another thing, Dr. Oro's office told me seizures are NOT

part of the Chiari symptoms. I would be curious to know if you hear

otherwise.

I have a few questions for you if you don't mind...just wondering if

Rhealene and I have any similarities as I am still trying to find answers

myself. After the seizure, did she have great difficulty

walking...especially up stairs? Has she ever felt any discomfort when going

to a movie theatre, like becoming catatonic or shaking because of the lights

and sound?

Have her get lots of sleep as I am sure this exhausted her mentally and

physically. I'll be thinking of you both.
