I wonder why it is then that I get progessively hotter with the slightest

exertion when it would take a person without hypo a lot more exertion to start

feeling hot. Any ideas? Will this go away if and when we are at optimal

replacement.

Lynda (in the UK)

Re: Can hypo folks climb mountains??

and I think this is especially true in those of us who are taking full

replacement dosages. Our pituitary and hypothalamus is out of the loop then,

right?

So there's nobody turning up the heat in the house...but us with our Armour.

You take such good care of the rest of us, I am glad you did something to save

you from feeling so awful. You've been sick for too long. Maybe you need a

vacation, here, in our heat wave?

....

(___)o This is a little bowl of chicken broth on a checked napkin, for you,

Hon'

+++++

(I don't know how to draw on the computer, the steam is going side-ways! LOL!)

Well I found out one thing for sure... When hypos get ill, their conversion

must drop to nothing. I am severely hypo right now even on the same dosage I

have been on for about a year. I woke up this morning to 94 degree temp. The old

aches returned with a vengeance and I popped an extra 2 grain Armour, went back

to bed then at 7 AM took my regular morning dosage. I feel better already. I

know for some of you a 2 grain in one day additional would send you over the

roof, but for me being ill for almost 2 weeks, it is probably about right. Now

if I can remember to do this NEXT time I get sick...

pleeeeease can I have a new one

Lynda

Re: Can hypo folks climb mountains??

I have read something about this...but can't remember it now...but i think

it's basically all related to the " broke thermostat " ...our body does not

adjust

up and down ...regulating temperature...properly.

I think that is hypo and Meno! I know with just a touch of Estrogen I am MUCH

better and with the amount of Armour I am taking I am sure it is no longer hypo.

Old aunts used to come up to me at weddings, poking me in the ribs and

cackling, telling me, " You're next. " They stopped after I started doing the

same thing to them at funerals

Funny, when I was diagnosed with Graves', one of my main complaints

was that the hot flashes were driving me crazy even with the

Estrogen/progesterone. Last spring I had something happen that the

drs called a TIA or mini-stroke, so my doc won't give me estrogen

any more. I had a total numbness/weakness on my left side driving

home one night - went right to the ER and by the time anybody

actually checked me over, I was fine, so they said " TIA " which

really means " we don't have a clue " LOL...So, I'm intolerant to cold

most of the time, unless I move around much, and then I'm intolerant

to heat! :-) Guess I'll have to get climate control and keep it at

73 degrees all the time! :-)

AH another of the many reasons I love working for myself in my own shop! I go

directly form heat to air conditioning... 68 degrees or nothing!~ That is about

the only temp I am comfy in, or 66 by the end of the day when I am tired I need

it cooler.
