Guest guest
This article is amazing! Shortness of breath is *exactly* why I went to the doctor in the first place! That is where my hypo experience began. More than the dry skin, more than the weight gain, it was the shortness of breath that was my primary symptom. I had to sit tall and *concentrate* very hard on taking a deep breath. And when I finally went in, they said I was fine, but they'd draw some blood " just to see... " . My TSH was either 6 or 11 (don't remember), and of course, they didn't test frees at all. I spent the next two years undertreated on Synthroid until I found this newsgroup & Janie (bless her heart!). Now I'm on real Armour (yay!) and feeling like a member of the human race again! I'll tell you, tho, my attitude towards the medical profession has really taken a nosedive. Most of 'em are worthless. Guest guest
This points out how Synthroid is an anti-thyroid and how too low of a dose of thyroid replacement can make you more hypothyroid. Tish

Guest guest
Laurie, it's amazing to me how many of us were told 'all was normal' when breathing was such a problem. I don't think anybody in the medical profession understands that breathing difficulties can most certainly be a hypo symptom. I had it something awful, but my dr would send me home with asthma inhalers and one to 'stop an asthma attack', and all the time, it was my thyroid. Geeze! Dr's!
