Guest guest
Hi everybody. I am fairly new to all this. Never found any body to discuss my situation with before. Have been monitoring this group and surfacehippy with some interest for the last few months. I am encouraged I must say. Until 1996 I was very active and played semi pro football till then. Was diagnosed with OA in my right hip that year and had an arthroscopy, performed by Dr Villar from Cambridge Lea hospital in England(has anybody else had a resurface from him)in the June. Since then have been seriously going to the gym, all non impact stuff, but have deteriorated badly in the last 6 months. Am now due to be resurfaced on the 3rd June by Dr Villar and would like to ask a question of all you experienced people. If very sporty what levels were you able to get back to and how long did it take to achieve the level. I have read one or two encouraging postings but would be interested to hear more. Have noticed something that encourages me very much. Most of the postings are very positive and I have yet to read any that relate to the operation being a failure. Anyway I look forward to hearing from anybody. I will certainly update with my progress. Will. btw I am 46 years old
