Guest guest
I have started my 5 1/2 year old on Floradix Calcium-Magnesium, since a hair analysis showed him to be extremely deficient in calcium. I read in the files on calcium on this list that a child of my son's age needs 800 mgs of calcium a day. The Floradix says that a serving of their supplement is 2 tablespoons a day, and that it provides 155 mg's of calcium - no where near the 800 mgs a day! If his hair analysis results are a reflection of the calcium in his body, than he's not been absorbing much calcium from his diet at all (and there has been some in his food - he must just not be able to absorb it), so does that mean that I need to give him about 10 tablespoons a day, in order to get close to 800 mgs in him?!!! (In other words, 5 of the 2 tablespoons dosages a day) Perhaps I am misunderstanding something here? He's already on enzymes and magnesium. Is there anything else I can do to help him absorb more calcium from his regular food? Thanks! Janice
