Sounds like you maxed out a few muscles and sinews (=ligaments or tendons).

I always got extra thunks when I did that.

I am no doctor, but from your description, I just don't see how you could

have damaged the implant.

Here is what I find for me. Warming up the muscles and using them should

make this become asymptomatic (implies it is not a structural deficiency in

the implant = peace of mind). The less I do the more I thunk. I don't

really get any more, unless I am very inactive for several days, then I get

lots. I suggest you ease back into your activities and make it a point of

thoroughly stretching. before and after.

http://www.exrx.net is a great place to snoop for stretches. In particular

look under the muscle and exercise directory

(http://www.exrx.net/Lists/Directory.html). Clicking on an exercise for a

set of muscles brings up a page with links to stretches.

Oh, use you legs when you lift, not your back. Your description sounds like

the classic bending over to pick up something and over using your

hamstrings. These attach way up your butt (ok, the ishial tuberosity if you

want to get technical) and will give you funny sensations under your glutes

(is the thunking by chance about there, or on the side/front?). If you

can't squat and lift it, don't lift it. :o>

Anyhow, you really should have a coach to help you start a routine, getting

towards proper and full range of motion is most often not an easy procedure.
