first day

This is the first day of a brand new year. I find that exciting!We are having a spell of warm weather so the ice has disappeared. Yea! I was able to walk out to the poultry yard today to say hello to the chickens and ducks. They look good so that means granddaughter, , is doing a good job taking care of them for me. My older dog, Blanca, went out to the birds with us. Blanca stayed busy burying all the bread we threw to the birds. The chickens just stare at Blanca when she does that. I'm attaching a photo of Blanca with a dog cookie in her mouth. She is such a sweet dog!I also stopped to visit with the

three little orphaned barn kittens. Their mother disappeared several months ago. They are so sweet:) I like to give them special treats on the back porch. Today I had part of a can of milk for them. They LOVE me for it! lolMy 24 year old grandson, , just got here. Since he has the day off work he decided to come over to play Dungeons and Dragons with a his cousins here. I have a pot of Menudo cooking on the stove. My daughter-in-law who is from Pennsylvania has a pot of sauerkraut and "kielbasi" (kielbasa) on the stove. My son made a huge bowl of guacamole. Hi KateMenudo is soup with beef, tripe and hominy. It's one of my very favorites. Other members of the family will eat the soup but only two of us eat the tripe. I love the tripe! lolThe "barn" kitties like to sleep on the back porch on a big, soft, fuzzy blanket. The have ventured inside the back door at times but are a little spooked by the dogs. I love to take them little specials like canned milk or bits of meat. They purr and rub against my legs. Sweet! SharonThis email is a natural hand made product. Sharon I KNOW you told me what Menudo is, but I plum forgot (what else is new in MS-land?). Can you educate me (again!).I can't believe how your weather is all over the seasons! Snow, ice, mud, cold and now warmth? It must be so hard to know what to wear each day.I'm so glad you were able to get out to visit with the ducks and chickens. That must have made your day.As far as those kitties, how will they manage outside with the snow and cold? Do they stay hunkered down in a barn?I made chicken parm last night for dinner. We had broccoli and garlic bread to go with. We have enough of the chicken for lunch. Then, I need to come up with something for dinner. I don't know about anyone else, but I get really tired of coming up with ideas for meals. Does anyone else get stuck?I hope everyone has a splendid
