into a deep depression over the last little while, one of the main reasons

being the lack of response to all his sent-out resumes. His self-esteem was

It's been awful.

The job - Nuclear Operator at the biggest power generating station in

Ontario - would be a cut in pay, but is only a ground level position with

TONS of room to move up. Besides, expenses would go way down too -- our 3

bedroom townhouse is $150K, where in that area my friend's five bedroom on a

corner lot was $50K! (OK, so it needed work, but still! $50K!?!?! I

nearly CRIED!)

The towns nearby are all on Lake Ontario, and about an hour from my parents!

My dad worked there and commuted every day, but Marc doesn't want to do

that. I worked there one summer too, and I don't blame Marc one bit!

LOL. Like you wouldn't BELIEVE. It's a long story, but we never should

have been in the town we're in, and the people who promised to support us

emotionally and with childcare if we came here completely neglected us and

moved away a year after we got here. Those were dh's parents, btw. We;re

trapped in this tiny village where everyone else is a commuter to the city;

we've been here three years - almsot four -- and still don't know anyone;

the cost of living is so high that even with Marc making $23 an hour we

barely meet our bills, because this is a bedroom town for Toronto and is

priced for Toronto even though Marc only makes a local wage. (a 3-bd

townhouse on .1 acres (that's what it says on my tax bill) sells for $150K+)

It's hell. We are SO unhappy here.

My Uncle is in Maine and I know why they moved up there. He's a postmaster

and they have a wonderful house that they built themselves. It's quite and

nature surrounds them.
