Guest guest
, Dr. Gross did my surgery and I saw him for my six week follow-up. I intend to have my six month and subsequent follow-ups with a local OS. We'll see how it goes with the first local OS follow-up and then decide whether to follow-up here (Michigan) or go back to South Carolina. It will also depend on how the hip feels. If problems should develop, I'm sure I would be more comfortable with Dr. Gross. Your local OS needs to have an open mind about resurfacing for a good patient surgeon relationship. I doubt that all OS's are capable of that. Good luck with your decision, Fred Dr. Gross, C2K 1/21/04 > I've narrowed my choices down to three possible doctors for hip > resurfacing. > The closest one to my home is Dr.Allan in Springfield, Illinois. > The next Doctor is Dr.Vail in Raleigh, North Carolina. > The farthest one is Dr.Gross in Columbia, South Carolina. > > What kind of track records do these doctors have? > > I am in Wisconsin, near Milwaukee. > > I am still quite new to this process and I am told that once I choose > a doctor, he will be the only one I deal with. Guest guest
How about: Dr. Myron Stachniw, M.D. Galesburg Orthopedics Galesburg, IL Contact: Ms. Reva Hennenfent, RN I don't have a long track record with Dr. Gross, my surgery was just over two months ago but I think he and his whole operation are first class and I would recommend them highly. Dr. Gross said I could have a local doctor perform the follow-ups if I wanted to avoid trips to SC. My wife and I like SC so we went down there for the 6 week follow-up and are intending to continue to go there for the 6 month, 1 year and 2 year follow ups. From what I have heard, Dr. Stachniw had one or both hips resurfaced himself - I would think this gives him a great perspective on the procedure. I believe he received the Cormet 2000 (which is the device he uses) from Dr. Gross.
