It happens more often in THR's I think, but I've heard of other resurfed patients with it also. Cindy C+ 5/25/01 and 6/28/
Guest guest
I've been having a hell of a time trying to tie my shoes as well or cut my toe nails. However, I eventually had a breakthrough and was able to do both at about the 14 week mark. Not easy, but not too difficult either. I've been tying shoes since about week 6. It was a little uncomfortable up until maybe the 8 week mark, but it wasn't painful or impossible. Guest guest
That is wierd. It still isnt easy to do either, but I hope it keeps getting better. I have AVN and Beaule at JRI did mine. During the procedure, he cut a " wafer " of bone that ligaments were attached to and said something about that making it easier to get in to the femoral head without interrupting blood supply. This piece of bone was then reattached with a screw. My x-rays show the C+ device, but I can also see a screw a little off to the side. I wonder if he only does this with AVN patients. Any one else at JRI have something like this? Beaule C+ 3/5/04. > > I've been having a hell of a time trying to tie my shoes as well or > > cut my toe nails. Guest guest
Hi, I too had that 'wafer' of bone with ligaments cut off........... OS said it was to help preserve rather than cut through areas when I had little left not atropied......plus I think it may help them get a clearer run at things if there are any hassles.......... Mine was tied back on with thin wire which amused me no end as it looks somewhat like a price tag attachment.............. Edith LBHR Dr. L Walter Syd Aust 8/02 > That is wierd.
