Guest guest
-Hi, hippy-pals, Thanks for your encouragement. I stopped by Dr 's office today to drop off the Xrays and lucky for me, he came in while I was there. He looked at them and agreed that they were much worse but he would still give it a 50:50 chance. He decided to make sure that there would be a large diameter Biomet THR prosthesis handy, if need-be. He said that since the femur collapse might have happened anyway and of course it's better that it happened before, rather than after the surgery. This did make me feel alot better. However, I'm a bit annoyed at the 3 surgeons that I first saw (2 of whom were supposed to be AVN specialists). They insisted that I didn't have AVN, but actually I DID. If I had been given the proper diagnosis, I would have gotten resurfaced 6 months ago! C'est La Vie! I guess I'm an interesting case! Guest guest
Hi Marie, Humm.........well that is both good news and bad news......... and a lot still up in the air for you............. Great you could catch up with Dr. 's quickly........ sad that he too agrees that the xrays are looking much worse......... and I rather thought that he may have thought that about the collapse and it being better before hand than after......... Misdiagonisis seems to be one of those things that happen with regularity........... perhaps it isn't all that easy to see some of these things off xrays........... most annoying when one is on the receiving end of it.......... but as you say C'est La Vie! All the best and I look forward to hearing that you had successful surgery whatever the outcome........ Edith LBHR Dr. L Walter Syd Aust 8/02 > > Thanks for your encouragement.
