I have a tooth now that is bothering me , its before the wisdom tooth. My

dentist is an air head and thinks that if he puts a filling in it will take care

of it. The filling falls out and so he drills more. I have went through 3

fillings and now its so shallow it feels like the nerve is exposed. He likes to

do this and then tell me to come back for another appt. but its 2 mths down the

road. I am going to see if I can get in to see another dentist tomorrow. Maybe I

will just send the air head the bill.

I don't think so. I can't remember exactly how many years ago I had my

tooth pulled 4? 5? so that would put me in my mid 30's and I honestly

didn't think it was a bad experience. I'm not saying I'd want to do it

every week, but considering the horror stories people dragged up,

snicker, guess it's like the labor stories people tell when they find

out someone is pregnant, I didn't think it was too bad at all. I

actually didn't even realize the tooth had come out, because I'd feel

gentle tugging (didn't hurt at all), and then he'd stop, more gentle

tugging, stop, so I thought he was just pausing again.

I could hear everything and feel stuff, but to be honest, I felt like I

was in this box and everything else was outside it. It really was like

I was almost in someone else's body for the thing. I have anxiety, and

I *didn't* care he was pulling or tugging. I was nervous up to the

point where I started getting the gas, and then I relaxed over the whole

thing. I was even asking questions (when his hands weren't in my

mouth). In fact, it made me so non nervous about the whole experience,

that I think if my asthma has made it so I can't do the laughing gas

again, I think I'd just ask for a Xanax and let my regular dentist do

it.

I hope you reported him! I had kind of the opposite experience with an

ex dentist. Neither my husband nor I had dental care for like 3 years,

and he gave my husband x-rays before he even saw him, and just cleaned

my teeth. Since the x-rays were done prior to either of us receiving

any clean or attention, I felt like there was a problem that I didn't

get x-rays too, so we moved on.

I think if my asthma has made it so I can't do the laughing gas again

Hello Darcy,

I have asthma and did at the time I had my wisdoms removed. They gave me

laughing

gas and knocked me out as well. They did instruct me to bring my inhalers with

me. It was over 5 years ago so my memory is cloudy but I think they may have

had me take my inhaler before starting.
