I don't know if this will help or not, but my experience with having all my

wisdom teeth out at once was not that bad. Now, I was a little younger than

I am now, but I thought I would be laid up for days and in pain. But, it

wasn't bad at all. I had them put me completely out and had it done on a

Friday. By Saturday, I was MUCH better and glad I did it!

Yes, I was terrified to have my wisdom teeth out, too. For one thing, I was

afraid I would be so terrified, I would die of heart attack! I wore slacks

so no one could peak under my skirt. I was completely unconscious but woke

up feeling fine. On the third day, I went to my evening class at the

University and was tired walking down the hall. That was the worst of it!

My husband had a tooth out. While the doctor told him not to remove the gauze

or to spit, he kept doing that and really scared the wits out of himself. I

think following the doctor's directions helped me a lot.

Still I can't get my 24 year old to go to the dentist, let alone get rid of

those wisdom teeth that have swollen her jaw and hurt her for years and could

have been fixed under her father's insurance up until she was 23. I would

guess the roots are wrapped around the jaw bone by now and it will be a

difficult surgery and expensive when she finally has it done.

So you see, you are not alone.

Just go do it. You will be glad you did.

I too had my wisdom teeth taken out all at once....I'm glad I did it all at

once, but I'm here to say if they don't bother you then leave em the hell

alone...because my experience was a nightmare from hell.

I wasn't knocked completely out, but believe me I was drugged almost out of

my mind...I also had Nitrous and the combination of it all made me start

cry'n...and I started gett'n the sniffles and started suck'n the gas 50 x's

faster than I was suppose to and I ended up puke'n...

I was soo messed up on all the drugs and just scared of the idea in general

that the doctor said the drugs made it even worse and I wigged out BIG

TIME!!! It was a mess believe me.

I wasn't in there probably more than an hour and half...but it seemed like

eternity and the trip home seemed like I was on my way straight to hell. I

puked all the way home...and cried...my mom (bless her heart) went into the

drug store to get my meds filled and I cried and begged her not to go in,

because I didn't want her to leave me. I'm tell'n ya folks I was baaadd

messed up...I know how Jimi Hendrick felt on his daily " trips " I can say that

much...lol

I was sooo out of it that they asked me if I wanted my wisdom teeth I

guess...and I guess I said yeah...and I still have em, but still won't look

at em...lol too scared...

So I'm here to say if those teeth aren't bother'n ya or causing any problems

with your other teeth...LEAVE EM THERE!!!!

Hi,

I just wanted to say that when I had my wisdom teeth out it did not

hurt at all. I was knocked out. The pain and swelling afterwards are nothing

compared to a severe fibro flare :)

I had my wisdom teeth out 1 year apart from each other. Doctor just gave lots of

Novocain and pulled them out. I have to say the pain of the them being pulled

didn't hurt as much as the pain I was dealing with before.

Now my experience was just the opposite! The Navy doctors had been

trying to yank my wisdom teeth out for years, but they weren't bothering

me, so I didn't want them removed. Then I went years later to my local

dentist for a check up, and he found the one wisdom tooth had such a

huge cavity in it, he recommended pulling it immediately.

Because of all the horror stories I had heard about wisdom teeth getting

pulled, I wanted something for it, so he immediately sent me up to get

my tooth pulled by a surgeon (with the nitrous oxide). I was very calm,

and felt more like I was watching a movie than actually having stuff

happen to me. The tooth was out before I knew it. Both the dentist and

the surgeon kept asking me " are you sure you don't have any pain from

this tooth? I can't believe you don't have any pain. You should be

having a huge amount of pain with this tooth! " I'd do it with the

laughing gas (after it was over is when I felt compelled to giggle, but

I restrained myself until after I got out of the office) again, but not

sure if I can now that I have asthma.
