Guest guest
I'm confused, Lorraine. So you had an ulcer on the cornea??? And this was caused because of a lazy eye?? I don't get it and don't understand what it has to do with EDS. When will it go away completely?? Will it recur? Love Lana 0 :-) eye problems -update (Monday) My dear friends, I am back from seeing another opthalmologist, who was younger than the last one I saw, and she knew about EDS (hurrah). She said the reason my rh eye is a lot weaker than my lh one is genetic (none of the rest of the family is like this), and that the corneal ulcer is not EDS related, luckily it had been caught early so has not damaged the cornea. The steriodal drops will be done now 6x a day, and the drops every 3 hours, and I will be back either Friday or Monday to see how the ulcer is progressing. She mentioned what I had, which I didn't understand ..... a..... something or other, one eye is completely different to the other, its what was once called 'lazy', but in the past here in the UK, they would bandage the good eye to make the bad eye work, this was never done with me because of my eds. I explained about seeing 3d only through the good eye, since I can't see much light at all from the bad eye (blue, cream etc), and she could explain this... I wasn't going potty thank goodness. I explained about flashing lights, and those lights (coloured) at parties, which I can't cope with, and she fully understood. I've been like this since birth (eye wise), is this anything to do with EDS, are there others out there with one good eye, and one very weak eye. I have EDS III. None of my family are like this, I seem to be the odd one! With love and gentle hugs and thank you so much for the prayers, -- Lorraine To learn more about EDS, visit our website: http://www.ehlersdanlos.ca

Guest guest
Lorraine, Is what you have in the one bad eye, lazy eye? I had this when I was young, and the eye doctor had me do eye exercises. All did was point my finger toward the area between my eyes, between the eye brows and follow the end of my finger until it touched that area. I'd do ten of these 3-4 times a day. Lazy eye runs in my family. My uncle had it and refused to wear his glasses of follow the eye doctors instruction, and apparently became legally blind in that eye. That same eye seems to wander some times, but usually only if my eyes are tired or strained. The vision in that eye isn't as good as the other eye, but it's not really that bad either. I don't know if my uncle had EDS or not. It wouldn't surprise me. CindyH Wisc. From: Lorraine M Money She said the reason my rh eye is a lot weaker than my lh one is genetic (none of the rest of the family is like this),

Guest guest
Strange- never thought about this- After reading this it all hit me flat out hard- my son that passed undiagnosed as they so say to VEDS- also had a " lazy eye " - I recall I took him to the eyedoctor and the eyedoctor mentioned it and told us that glasses would be helpful but that he did not want us to waste money on them if Kenny was not going to wear them- ( now there's a first eh?) So he promptly asked Kenny outright- " If I prescribe you glasses- will you wear them? " Kenny looked him in the eye and said " No " - so decided to just let things sit unless they got worse down the road...... will never know now- but wow- it may be an EDS factor- how weird. Hugs and Hope all are as well as can be- Love TJ Re: eye problems -update (Monday) Lorraine, Is what you have in the one bad eye, lazy eye? Guest guest
Hi Just wanted to say also that my son Danny who passed away from VEDS had a lazy eye, as did his brother who had surgery to correct it when he was 4.
