Guest guest
HEY Rhea, This sounds JUST like my hips, they click/ clunk/ slip/ slide and HURT they catch and HURT. I dislocated my pelvis and also my right hip and SIJ when I was 12 and never had it truly diagnosed back then (remembering I was only diagnosed at 30). I am SO glad and amazed that Hannah has come so far fromt he shy little girl she was. Good Luck Sharon > Hi Everyone, > > Anyone else have hips that will clunk or even grate at times while > walking? Guest guest
This sounds like me. It happens every morning when I get up. It's usually my left hip. It hurts and I have to hobble around until it " pops " , then it's ok. I can actually hear & feel the " pop " . It will also happen after I've been sitting awhile ( which I try not to do). My right hip is affected by my sciatic nerve, so getting out of bed in the morning is a real eye opener due to the pain at first. Then of course my left knee (which I had surgery on last year) has to go through it's popping too. Don't know of anything to do for this. I've never asked my doc, just figured it was loose ligaments. And with me being pregnant, I've had even more looseness. So I guess we are destined to " snap, crackle & pop " . Guest guest
From: Rhea Anyone else have hips that will clunk or even grate at times while walking? What about hips getting stuck in one position? ~~~ Hi Rhea~ since I turned 50 (3+ yrs ago) I sure know about clunking, snapping, and grating hips.....they're not as bad as some of my other joints tho'. At times the clunk happens while bending over while seated, so my upper body is between my knees, It clunks soooo loud. But it feels good, like a lot of pressure/tightness has been relieved inside the hip. I now have problems externally rotating my one hip. It feels like something is caught in the joint . It's bad enough to have knees that buckle/grate, pop, grind, etc....I don't need problems with my hips too....like giving out (that's when it gets stuck like that!) and having the piriformus muscle (runs across the buns right over the sciatic nerve) start in. Then the SI joint slips out .....what fun we have living in these bodies of ours. CindyH Wisc.
Guest guest
My hips go bump in the night - and at other times. Mostly my left lately - until a few years ago it was my right - go figure. I have found relief my working on my glute muscles and piraformis and whatever else muscles there are back there - seems the muscles were pulling on those poor fragile joints. Actually, I prefer to have them a bit stiff - when they get really loosened up I end up with a real 'wiggle in my walk'. I feel like they are never going to stop going sideways and who knows where I'll end up.
Guest guest
Hi Rhea My hips do the same thing. They'll pop out while I'm walking and I'll end up on the ground, although, I'm quite good at catching myself before I fall now. I can lean sideways and see/feel the tendon slip over the joint. There is also times when I'll be walking or standing, and I'll feel/hear a clunk in my lower back. (right at the top of my hip) It's extremely painful. There are only certain times when my hips get stuck... I won't tell you when but I will say that my husband, Tom is always right there to put it back in. He literally has to lift my leg right up until it slides back in. I can't move until he gets it in place. BTW, I enjoyed a beautiful day yesterday but it's pouring rain right now. (Better than the snow we had last week) Canada is a beautiful place where if you don't like the weather, wait a few minutes, it'll change!
