Re: De Smet / coworker - vacation???

When I had my consultation with De Smet (May 24th, which was when my

LBHR surgery got scheduled for next Aug. 10), I remember having a

chat with Hugo, who said he was going for on Holiday in Italy

(Rimini) sometime in July, although I don't remember if he mentioned

any exact dates for that. I am not aware of any specific holidays

regarding De Smet, although July definitely is the most popular

vacation month here in Belgium.

By the way: Hugo is De Smet's brother in Law. Both Hugo and de Smet's

wife, Gaetana (who is also his nurse in the operation room) actually

come from an Italian family, who emigrated to Belgium from Sicily!

So, I was able to speak Italian with both of them! De Smet also

understands Italian, although he doesnt really speak it. I'm afraid

this might limit my possibilities of cursing in my mother tongue

while at the hospital... :-))

When I was scheduling a date for surgery with Dr. De Smet, I was

initially interested in the month of July. However, he told me that

in July he is working only two days. That´s why I think he might be

on vacations. I finally got August 10th for the surgery.

I need to get in touch with Hugo in order to get advice in some

administration matters. As I guess Dr. De Smet is on vacations, I was

hoping to find a separate e-mail address for Hugo.

FYI to all interested - here's the cut and paste from DeSmet's email

to me Friday 7/2 - - his answer in CAPS....

2) if I schedule with you next week, what is your schedule? I am

looking to come Aug/Sept. Is one of these months better than another

So after reading it, I'm thinkin' he was tellin' me (now us!) that he

was gone now for a week, not in Sept. I'd write anyway though - who
