Guest guest
Sometime this week the odometer on ActiveJoints.com main page will roll over the 100,000 mark. I guess it will be time for an oil change and a new set of radials. I mention this here because I consider ActiveJoints a kind of sister site to surfacehippy, though I try to be objective in presenting all options on ActiveJoints. Both have come a long way since their founding in 2000. The traffic rate on ActiveJoints and Surfacehippy is related to their page rank on the big search engines such as Google and Yahoo. The page rank is helped by those of you who have included a link to ActiveJoints on your homepage or blog. To help people find ActiveJoints and Surfacehippy via the search engines, its good to include some key words in the link text. You can cut and paste the following, for example http://www.ActiveJoints.com " >ActiveJoints: Total hip replacement and alternatives for active patients http://groups.yahoo.com/group/surfacehippy " >Surfacehippy: Suppport group for hip resurfacing patients As always, thanks for your support, -
Guest guest
, I'd remarked in a post last week at the growth of the surfacehippy group since I found it in late March. I believe then, the hippies numbered about 1250. This morning, as I checked in...the number was 1427. The number seems to increase by two or three every time I check in. Given the antipathy with which most OS's still regard resurfing (and the bad-rap they give it), the growth speaks the to tenacity and the intelligence of the people who get here; the fact that they stay speaks to the value and quality...and hope...they find here. Thanks for what you've done to make it work. For us waiting to get a surgery date and insurance approval, the message board is our field of dreams... and it certainly proves... " if you build it, they will come. " All the best. Alan > Sometime this week the odometer on ActiveJoints.com main page will roll > over the 100,000 mark. You have been an invaluable resource and this website has been a godsend for many patients. One thing I would like to mention - I have noticed that the database does not seem to be growing at the same rate as the number of hip resurfacings being done on patients around the world who use this website. I would like to make a plea to everyone out there who has been resurfaced - If you are on the database great!! If not, please enter your data! This information is important for everyone involved from patient to physician to administrator to sales reps. I personally plan on entering my data the day I get home from my surgery. Guest guest
I want to thank you so much for your wonderful, informative, clear, balanced website. It introduced me to resurfacing and saved me from the local OS who gave me the creeps. Unfortunately I couldn't hold out for the FDA and my insurance so I got a THR on my first hip. The other isn't as bad so I am hoping to get resurfacing from Dr. Amstutz. Thanks to your information I found Amstutz and the MoM and the large ball. So even though I have THR, I'm so much beholden to you!. Thank you! Thank you!Thank you! > Sometime this week the odometer on ActiveJoints.com main page will roll > over the 100,000 mark.
