Guest guest
This is my first post. I've been reading e-mails for about 1 month, but haven't had anything to say up until now. Thanks to all of you who have educated me in the SurfaceHippie way. I'm in. I saw Dr. Amstutz on March 31 and he said that my bone was good enough for resurfacing. What a relief. Now I wait to see if my insurance will cover enough of the cost for it to be cheaper to have Dr. Amstutz operate versus going to Belgium and having Dr. De Smet operate (~13,000 US Dollars). I am confident that either doctor would do an excellent job. Does anyone have any experience with how my insurance, Government Employees Health Association (GEHA), responds to hip resurfacing? JRI is now submitting the operation to insurance uisng the THR code with the possibility of using the resurfacing prosthesis if the bone quality is good enough. Bruce, 48, 2 young children, looking forward to running faster than my 3-year old son (and, playing beach volleyball, running, biking, etc. without pain)
