Hi ,

Has your incision healed? Even if you still have a little bit of

blood/serum oozing, you might be better off just keeping the site clean and

uncovered. I reacted to the waterproof dressing on my wound and had to go

to plain gauze and paper tape for a couple of days, then Jan the nurse had

me just leave it uncovered, with just the oversize boxers I was wearing to

protect it from rubbing against my outer clothing. I was able to shower

and blot the incision area dry, but no baths.

Hope this helps.

I would like to add to 's good advice of using paper tape.

If you are not comfortable yet with just loose boxers, then use very

large pads to also cover the sore spots and loosely tape it. That

worked for me and I had second degree burns from the stiff surgical

tape. I also rubbed Vitamine E oil on and around the spots, after

desinfecting with peroxide.

Hope this helps.

,

I found the and ADAPTIC non-adhering dressings worked

well on my burns. It didn't take any scabs away when you changed it.

I had the same blistering issue from the tape used after surgery.

More pain and nuisance from that than the sutures. Paper tape is a

must. By week 3 the burns were dried up.

Today was the 6 week checkup, and the crutches have morphed into a

cane, for the next 6 weeks.
