I'm curious if such studies every examine those families with

high concordance to figure out if they are different in some way.

I mean if you have a disease that strikes 1 in 200 people at

random, and a similar inherited disease that struck say all

women in a family, then total concordance might be dominated by

one family.

Maybe I'm just paranoid - but all those reporting Graves'

triggered by Iodine contrast dye, leave those of us who never

ate Kelp till after we were diagnosed wondering " why me " , " why

my mum " , " why all my aunts " , " why my grandmother " - okay they

don't all have Graves's but they all had/have autoimmune issues

- - but hey we don't even have any secret family recipes for fish

and seaweed pie or anything. Perhaps it is the sherry trifle at

Christmas, or Grandads home made wine (plausible). Things common

to all of us are obviously more common than between strangers,

but perhaps not hugely so these days - where we moved 100 miles

away for a promotion my dad got before I was even born.
