Hi Adam,

The food thing is really difficult. Did you ever try another allergist who

actually performed diagnostic tests? I think, at this point, you need to

stick to a very simple, bland diet chicken, low fat cuts of meat, turkey,

maybe fish and low carb veggies. I know it's not appetizing, but try it

and see.

Sorry I can't be more help.

I have a friend who several years ago did 2 weeks of nothing but chicken and

rice he got really bored with it but felt better (he did it for his hay

fever). Then he added one food a week and discovered his allergies. I

think he added low carb veggies first and then went to fruits. He's a

doctor (surygan) and self diagnosed - that tells me something!

Hi Kim.

I went vegan and feel ALOT better. I just started to cut out the red meats,

and kept going from there. I had such good results that I don't miss it at

all! Also, a biggie for me is milk. Now all of my friends and family feel

terrible going for ice cream because NO ONE loved Strawberry waffle sundaes

more that I! But, after I eat it, I feel horrible, so I don't miss it!

Hi all,

I've taken the conservative approach on food (tried to, anyway) as I'm very

eager to get to remission rather than be pressured into losing my thyroid. I've

especially used the listing of iodine in foods that's posted in the Graves'

files. I also had bad luck ignoring iodine content early in my treatment when I

ate a lot of turkey (at Thanksgiving, no less) and had a worsening of my hyper

symptoms. And I know asparagus is going to be hard to pass up, too.

And then, in addition, there are the things that may worsen autoimmune problems

or eye inflammation, like sugar, saturated fats, wheat for those who are gluten

sensitive. I do admire people who've restructured their eating habits

altogether, it's hard to do.

Best wishes,

> Thanks. I have been trying really hard to watch what I eat. Lucky

I was never one for coffee, soda or added salt. Chocolate and

seafood (being a veggie) is very disappointing.

If anyone knows of any lists out there that would be great. I really

aapreciate everyones help.

Talk soon!!
