Guest guest
Well folks believe it or not it seems that I may have H1N1 (swine) flu. My flu screening came back positive for Type A. So now we wait for confirmation from the CDC regarding yes or no for H1N1. Since we're out of the season for regular Type A the pulmonary Fellow and the attending on the unit seem fairly convinced that it will be positive. We'll see. Regardless I'm still feeling better than yesterday and I've already had two doses of Tamiflu and two days of Avelox so I'm cautiosly optimistic that things will continue to more along in a good direction. And I can hear you all wanting to ask me if I used a mask this weekend. I did and in addition went through a 16 oz container of Purell in three days. I suppose it's just one of those things. Something I didn't want but here it is. Hope everyone is feeling ok. Beth Moderator Fibrotic NSIP 06/06 Dermatomyositis 11/

Guest guest
GIO If you use the bandana it is mandatory you wear one white glove. You don't have to get plastic surgery though. To me it's a little bit scary too when you think of all those things some doctors assume and don't test for. I have been led to believe that the very presence of our oxygen gets us much more thorough testing in ER. I had someone close recently with sore throat that would get better then come back, fatigue, " cold " that wouldn't stay away. She was put on antibiotics a couple of times. But her latest doctor decided just on the wild chance to test for mononucleosis. Well, the next day she got the news. We've had members here with Epstein Barr Virus/Mono. Might be hard to tell the symptoms from PF progression (except if accompanied by fever). And they tend not to test people our age. Scares me more for you and your medicos in your area. However, I know you're tough and invincible. But with a normal human it would. Actually with you, it scares me. A reminder to everyone, if you feel like something new or different is wrong, then insist. You feel your own body. You don't imagine. Don't be bullied away from what you know. > > > > Well folks believe it or not it seems that I may have H1N1 (swine) > flu. My flu screening came back positive for Type A.
