Graves_Chat is not a place for arguing and being mean to one another - that was not why it was created. If people want to do that, that is not the place any more than this board is. Please do not send mean spirited discussions over there. Also, if " any discussion related to God or a higher entity " are not to be talked about here, then I assume all the " prayer " or " good thought " requests that we have seen on here are not appropriate either... What has happened to this " support " board??? It has changed so much in the last year that I hardly recognize it. Pam B.

Guest guest
Pam, My suggestion was that we keep graves support for the medical purposes for which it is intended--and to support each other. Whenever we start some controversial subject on g_s board, we end up with problems. I don't think the original post, or the replies to it were necessarily mean spirited, but merely reflective of the differences among us. As we continue to try to understand and communicate with each other, these differences are bound to pop up here and there. You're right, the board has changed--we are much bigger, and we seem to be taking responsibility for helping a lot of people. I'd hate to have someone come to g_s and get so turned off by a seemingly bickering discussion that they don't feel welcome, or that they are getting support for their medical needs here. That's why I suggested moving the discussion. If you'll remember, there have been other discussion topics that have had to be removed from the board because of controversy. At least if this continue on the chat forum, nobody who does not want to participate will feel they might be missing important info by not reading all the posts in g_s. Guest guest
then perhaps make a new board for " graves_controversy " or " graves_bickering " or something. I really don't want bickering in the chat group any more than I want it here and that was not what it was made for. Guest guest
Oh - can't enjoy a bit of fun about it - but can reinforce the fantasy just cos a democratic 'number' squirts it out? They aren't joking when they say Amercians don't understand irony.. WAS A JOKE - lighten up people - ....though like all jokes - contains a grain of truth I do think religion is as much a condition as any...therefore - equally - curable..and I'd have thought that is entirely sayable.. Guest guest
Pam, I totally agree with you. Prayer has long been known to be a strong factor in any healing program. Something has happened to this board and I hope and others who were offended know there are other boards like the Graves board at www.mediboard.com where opinions are valued. Guest guest
as a final observation from me on this - thread.. briefly I'd like to ask ..do you think any adult is EVER entitled to feel offended? I thought adults were grown up especially TO deal with things - adultly? if they are adult enough to know differences and more importantly to respect their own - they really won't be offended by Anything - in an adult discussion. prayer - though - 'is' just one more therapeutic 'process' that could have any number of reasons for working or not and warrants no MORE nor less respect 'than' any other ..except to the holder of the belief - and that is at their OWN risk - in the debating of.. if and as long as your own conviction is SO strong - you don't need to run away to a group of your own..to protect it ..or do you? if you feel you do - perhaps you need to ask yourself a few more questions about - your - 'actual' - commitment to your beliefs..for something in yourself may NOT be - telling you the truth.. after all - I and other non-believers too, appear to 'have' to put up with these - dogmatic - without seemingly being permitted to comment - which I may add could also be considered sheer bad manners...if that is an example of behaviour from the followers of a belief...? etc... yet I don't feel the need to flee the perpetrators..just because I think they are delusional as regards 'a' system of belief. and - it is opinions - which are valued don't you think? Beliefs - on the contrary - are usually questionable.... Unless one is the believer by the looks of it 'Have a nice day' - I think you might say...
