Guest guest
I also have severe TED and have had five decompression surgeries. Before the last one, I had very " beaten-up " (my surgeon's words) corneas and a nasty chemosis on the conjunctiva of the eye due to be operated on. The surgeon put in a tarsorrhapy (sewing together the eyelid either completely or partially--mine was left a little open so that I could see out of the eye, but it looked TERRIBLE!!). This actually helped a lot and then they did the decompression, which meant my eye wasn't protruding anymore, which eliminated the chemosis problem I'm going to have eye muscle surgery Feb. 20 and boy, will I be glad to get rid of the double vision, which has been going on for 15 months now. After that, they will do the eyelids and remove the excess fatty tissue that's developed and fix my retracted lids. This whole eye disease is such a long process. I know how you feel. I can't wait until I'm back to some semblance of my old self.
