As I understand it T3 toxicosis is elevated fT3 in the absence

of elevated fT4.

It can result in complete TSH suppression, whilst the fT4 test

is normal, or even low normal.

Many Graves' patients have elevated ratios of fT3 to fT4 (IIRC),

which is why I pay extra to have my fT3 measured fairly frequently.

I've had T3 toxicosis pretty much since I started treamtent

after relapse, however the labs weren't measuring fT3 routinely

so it was very hard to fathom what was going on, and I assumed

my TSH was abnormally low for some other reason - till I learnt

more about fT3.

Basically you are still hyperthyroid.

I get a few " hypo " -like symptoms if my fT4 is suppressed below

normal, even if my fT3 is elevated, so I'm a convert to the we

need both hormones at " normal " school of thinking.

My last " normal " fT3 test result was August 2002 :-(

I wouldn't trust any doctor to identify this unless he had TSH,

fT4 and fT3 results in front of him at the time!

made sure he had them all ..

0.0 - 1.8 seems unlikely lab normal to me ;-)

Interesting results.

My TSH is usually much lower than that when the fT3 is elevated

Probably have to include your list of medication(s) for others

to make sense of these results. Including other (non-thyroid)

medications.

With these I wouldn't bet on you feeling either hyper or hypo,

and the doctor will probably have to treat based on symptoms.

It's days like these when you wish your blood was being sent to

Elaine's own lab ;-)

I'm losing track of Luci's... sorry... have you had blood tests

to confirm autoimmune Thyroid disease (a TPO of 4 might be high,

but it isn't the kind of level that couldn't be caused by other

thyroid problems).

Simon, I requested and had my TSI checked...

TSI - 147

Are there any other tests that I should have done??

The new Dr. dropped me from 1 1/2 Grains of Armour

to 1 Grain per day. I am also taking Cozzar for my skyrocketing Blood

presure.
