Garbage In -- Garbage Out!

One day I hopped in a taxi and we took off for the airport. We were driving in the right lane when suddenly a black car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us. My taxi driver slammed on his brakes, skidded, and missed the other car by just inches! The driver of the other car whipped his head around and started yelling at us.

My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy. And I mean he was really friendly. So I asked, 'Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital! This is when my taxi driver taught me what I now call, "The Law of the Garbage Truck."

He explained that many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment. As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it and sometimes they'll dump it on you. Don't take it personally. Just smile, wave, wish them well, and move

on. Don't take their garbage and spread it to other people at work, at home, or on the streets.

The bottom line is that successful people do not let garbage trucks take over their day. Life's too short to wake up in the morning with regrets, so...Love the people who treat you right. Pray for the ones who don't. Life is ten percent what you make it and ninety percent how you take it! Have a blessed, garbage-free day!

Geeta,

Just wanted to jump in & say hello to you.. we haven't swapped for ages.....have you re-adjusted since your big trip to the USA.. any new perspectives for you, healthwise???? or any other way for that matter???????

I'll be watching a new Tele series starting tomorrow "The Story of India".. I suspect it'll be a BBC production...I'll be interested to see what sort of 'filter' it is presented through. (British Colonial or POST-British Colonial or from an Indian perspective)

I caught a little program on the history of Mumbai last week... I never knew Mumbai was a series of islands that sort of got 'filled in' to become a huge city. It had a lot of info about the stunnoing array & variety of food establishments there... especially along the beach front.

Every Monday I've been doing Tai Chi & I was thinking about you & Yoga .....I find Yoga poses very hard for my stiff body but I can manage Tai Chi quite well. Do you still practise Yoga... has it been part of your life always????

It's odd how members of this Forum come to mind at all sorts of times when we are all so far removed from one another physically !

Hi ,

I am doing quite well, have been having a stubborn viral infsection since a fort

night or more, may have to go to the pulmonologist since i seem to be rquiring

more o2 on exertion.

I have adjusted to my old routine after returning, at present the weather is

horrid 38 deg Celcius very humid, but i thank my stars i have to stay home and

live in comfort while there are millions out there working hard under the

merciless scorching sun.

Nice to kow you will be watching Indian stuff on the TV.

I have an Aust connection too, my kids both my son and daughter-in-law go to

Melbourne often on their work related assigmnments in fact my DIL is due to go

there next week.. She enjoys her stay there and tells me how relaxing it is

there, someday i will come there with her and meet you too!!

There are many asanas in yoga which are meant for us and they are not difficult

, infact i do only pranayamas or breathing exercises everyday and some

stretching asanas .unforunately i started practising late ,had i begun earlier

this disease would not have progressed so far, now i am very regular , keeps me

fresh and fit.

How nice to know that you play the piano music is very healing and since you do

it in your grand daughter's compny itmust be doubly pleasurable.

Thank you

love

YUKKY... I know what 38C & Humid means Gita...we're just coming out of that sort of stinker here....Autumn has arrived.... Goody I say!

I love Melbourne... it's our funkiest city...lots of Street life/cafe culture....the real centre of our Fashion industry & the 'rag trade'..home to AFL footy....our best stand-up comedians hail from here.....it's a long way from where I live... 2 days drive!

I'll be down there in June for a family wedding & we're staying in a Posh Hotel (mostly we stay Budget style in a Back-packer's hostel!)... so I'm looking forward to an up-market experience!

It'll be COLD! The weather comes in from the Southern Ocean & Antartica a bit like Tasmania.

Now you get better quick sticks.... long distance travel often sets off an illness....get pampered all you can!

In what direction from Mumbai's centre do you live??? Is mumbai divided up into suburbs with their own names??????

Gita.... I 've read your posts to others and I can relate to the heat being depressing. Heat is my number 1 enemy.

I rather thought you may be lurking around ;o) but it's good to see a post or two.

Not any news from me. One day just passes into the next.

Take care of you.

grit and courage to get into the trains they are jam packed like sardines at all

fire, My DIL Gauri is coming there next week.

By the way, how is your niece who was very seriusly ill and was miraculously

saved, i hope she has recovered..

Goody, now I can get Mr Google onto you Ms Geeta...Navi Mumbai...that rolls off the tongue very well I think!

Depending on which road we take Melbourne is more or less about 1700 Klms away... 2 days drive or about 2 hours by Plane on a direct flight from Brisbane. (It takes about 2 1/2 hours for us to drive up to Brisbane to catch that Flight!)

The BBC program on India was so interesting... it was looking into India's pre-history & some recent archaelogy finds in a Desert to the North... all about the Rig Vedas & the importance of Horses in unlocking the time scale & the Mahabharata & the evolution of Sanskrit. They seemed to be saying that Sanskrit is now known to be the common denominator of all Modern Language as evidenced by common words such as the words for Mother & Father...I could follow it as I was watching but now I want to see it all over again.

The Bookshop (called Noahs Arc) I worked in for over 13 years had a very broad range of books & we stocked lots of Indian material written in English. There is a constant trail of folk from here who go to India to study & do retreats.

Aren't grandchildren so precious for us....they watch us very carefully I find.

Are you feeling any better.. please let us know how you're getting on Geeta... once we hear someone is unwell we don't stop worrying until we KNOW that they're BETTER!

Cheers,

in Oz
