Guest guest
Can anyone recommend Dr. Zaltz? We interviewed him today for our daughter to be born Jan 11 with bilateral club feet. He stated he trained with Dr. Ponseti in IA with another Dr. from Detroit (Dr. Mendelow?). He has done several hundred club feet using Ponseti after doing a few hundred the old method. He treats about 60 children a year. All of his methods match what the Ponseti information (website, book, &c) recommend. We interviewed a parent of a 15-month-old who had been treated by Dr. Zaltz who was very satisified with her sons progress. He went from bilateral level 5 of 6 to walking before one year. He is still in the DBB with no complications. Dr. Zaltz sounds very experienced and knowledgeable, but he is not certified by Dr. Ponseti. We don't know yet the severity of our daughter, but finding a local Dr. would be a godsend as we have three other children. We have also considered Dr. Craig in Ann Arbor, Dr. Schreiber in Flint, and Dr. Mendelow in Detroit. Dr. Zaltz is recommended by our pediatrician and she is confident that our MCare insurance will cover him.
