Guest guest
Kristi, Sorry, I don't have much advice for you on the working from home thing. I've been a financial planner for 6 years and I can get away with only going in to the office 2 days a week while my mom baby- sits. I'd lose my job, though, if I couldn't go in those 2 days. I use the Avent Isis pump. It's an inexpensive manual pump that has worked quite well for me. With two caveats: 1) I went a week thinking it wasn't working when in fact I was just putting the stupid thing together wrong. Read the instructions carefully. The slightest little incorrect twist can make it lose its suction. 2) Make sure it's REALLY clean. If you don't get all the soap/milk/residue off of the silicone parts, they slip more easily and it can take you longer to pump. Pumping is great if you can make it work for you. It makes me feel good to know that I'm breastfeeding my baby even when I'm at work. Good luck! Guest guest
I have arthritis in my spine which gives me unbearable back pain at times. I live with Therma Care heat wraps. It seems the only thing along with pain pills that helps. The nice thing is if I am forced to go out they don't show under my clothes. I wish I had better idea's for your trip. Hil Help please It's vacation time and we have a lovely trip planned to Montreal. A 10 hour trip we usually do over 2 days then we'll stay 5 days in Montreal itself. Problem is Phil's back is still hurting although we have found heat and regular back pain meds work better than the prescription. Still sitting a long time or even being out without a break bothers him. We went to a movie tonight and had to leave 1/2 way through because Phil couldn't sit any more. So on to my questions 1. Do you think he'd be comfortable enough to enjoy the trip? Otherwise he feels fine 2.. How would you handle his driving? I don't drive and my oldest is on a learners so he can't drive out of state. 3. Any suggestions for making the trip and sight seeing more enjoyable. We plan to use the Metro as much as possible. Other than the recent security stuff I am hoping that will make things easier. Phil is looking forward to this trip so much especially visiting St.ph's Oratory which is the only place he had prayed for himself. The place is beautiful as is Notre Dame. Anyway I look forward to any advice you have Thanks Narice (http://community.webshots.com/photo/293018550/293018550lWtQdw#)
Guest guest
Hi: I have both back and neck problems. A few suggestions, Have Phil put a thermapad on his back ( they are heating pads that last for about 5 hours) prior to leaving. You can by them at a drug stroe and it is a heated pad and it really works. 5 hours the absolute max that I could stay in a car without severe pain. Make sure he stops every hour to two just to stretch. I also swear by icy hot for at night in the hotel - it is a lotiin that you put on your back. i have also used magnets that were given to me by an MD that was a specialist in Acupunticure. It was a chair pad with magnets -- and it did help. The physical therapy department at the hospital might be willing to give you a few hints. Last my son just came back from Montreal had a great time and they were able to get everywere using the train. Good luck.. flipper759@... wrote: It's vacation time and we have a lovely trip planned to Montreal. A 10 hour trip we usually do over 2 days then we'll stay 5 days in Montreal itself. Guest guest
Maybe break the driving there into 2 days and spend less time in Montreal, if that's feasible. ~Dianna mary g maryg14129@...> wrote:Hi: I have both back and neck problems. Guest guest
Narice, Sounds like a great trip, hope you get the little problems worked out. You have gotten some good suggestions and hopefully they will work I can think of anything else. Those patches should work great. I love them. If he is doing all the driving, make sure you take frequent breaks so he can get out and stretch and walk a bit. Hope he can manage it.
