Guest guest
Hi RH and others Regarding this " " mito cocktail " of about 15 on Dr. Shoffner's list, I found this wonderful review article: Mitochondrial Medicine - Molecular Pathology of Defective Oxidative Phosphorylation by Egil Fosslien Department of Pathology, College of Medicine, University of Illinois at Chicago, Chicago, Illinois at http://www.annclinlabsci.org/cgi/content/full/31/1/25 . Two questions: 1) The " therapy " suggestions in the above article lists Melatonin. I've taken same (3 mg.) at night to help me sleep (I have foot pains that keep me awake whenever I lie down, and I also have VERY delayed sleep onset, i.e. " night owl " ) and it's worked wonders. Within an hour I'm REALLY ready to sleep. I've recently discontinued it, as part of a series of supplement self-experimentations. But now I'm intrigued. Anybody use this for mito, or have any other comments? 2) I found the above article searching Yahoo for " schoffner mitochondrial " (note the " c " in the name, which appears correct) but never did find this list of Dr. Schoffner's. I thik I can guess SOME entries on the list. Nonetheless, can anybody point me to this particular list? Peace, Steve D. The basic thought is: > 1) Check out systems with problems (for me, eyes, muscles, > digestive). > 2) Get a baseline for systems without problems yet (for me, heart, > ears) > 3) Treat by going down the list of the " mito cocktail " .
