Hello all.

Just an update on Kaitlin. She got downgraded in her time! :-) :-)

YAYYYY!!! Dr. Frick says that she can go down to 12h/day now! We are going to

go

down to 14h/day. (8p-10a) I know that different docs have different rates, but

Kaitlin is able to crawl now YAY! and bear weight when leaning against

something (for very short periods) YAY! So I think that 14h will be okay.

We went to Nordstrom and got her first pair of REAL shoes today! Some

prewalkers by Stride Rite. They measured her feet and they are over a 1/2 size

different...but hey, that's why we went to Nordstrom! I really wanted the

Robeez,

but her little foot is so fat that the elastic left marks. :-(

I am just THRILLED for her to be out of the brace during the day so much now!

YAY! I never thought we would make it past the 23/7 period but we did and I

believe that I owe the people on this board a HUGE THANK YOU!!!! I don't

think we could have stuck it out without the encouragement and education

recieved

here, not to mention the venting that you all let me do during difficult

times. THANK YOU. I am so very GRATEFUL to have found you all. I hope that

everyone's progress continues so well.

To all of the parents brand new to the DBB....The day will come when the

brace will not be a PITA! The day will come when you don't hate it. The day

will

come when it won't be a burden or a hassle. You won't want to throw it at

the wall. The day will come when your child will crawl and walk. It will payoff

and the day will come when you are thankful for it and your child will be

thankful to you for being so persistant and commited. Most of all, those times

will come SO much sooner than you think.

I never thought we would get here. I never thought I would be so thankful

for that damned old bar that I used to hate so much...but doggonit..I am.

Freeman
