Guest guest
Hi Cheryl, First, and foremost, I'll keep and your family in my prayers. I hope that all goes well, and the surgery is a breeze. Secondly, I keep saying that the coasting downhill has to be right around the corner. I guess I just haven't hit the right corner yet! LOL Sometimes, it feels like life is just a journey from one problem to the next. In my 23 years of parenting, I've learned to be thankful if I can just get finished with one problem before the next one crops up. There are times that the problems feel like an avalanche toppling down over my head, and all I want to do is DUCK!!! At those times, I use the same strategy that Mark wrote down; One day at a time, One hour at a time, One minute at a time, One breath at a time. It truly does work! I totally understand how you feel about being away from your other kids, too. Last Sept, when B went to NY for his triple procedure, we left Ohio for what we thought would be a 3-day excursion! Three weeks later, after missing my 16 yr old's home coming, my 13 yr old's Open House, leaving my hubby in the lurch with our pet store, and numerous other events important to my 2 teenagers, we finally arrived home. The guilt and worry were tremendous! The best thing I can say about that whole time is that we all made it through in one piece, and I did learn that life will go on without me! LOL (Not that I'm not needed, but they all did okay on their own) I'll be thinking of you and yours, and be keeping you all in my prayers. May get through the surgery without complications, and have a speedy recovery! Hugs to all! Were you an athlete before surgery? Or was it mr Smets magical hands? I wonder seriously if it is due to his surgical approach. He says on his website he uses the posterior approach to speed recovery. Many surgeons use a different approach. I did'nt like to ask my surgeon. He just came highly recommended by my GP and his colleagues as he copes with tricky cases. I am certainly very happy to be pain free and don't mind how long it takes to get back to normal!!!! You poor thing having to return to work! I am lucky to have six months with full pay and six months with half pay!! Hope I don't need that long! I have not started any physical training yet except walking and a sheet of exercises. I will wait for my six weeks check and take it from there. Any way take care Cheryl x > > > > > > > ----Original Message Follows---- > Hi Mijke, I was wondering how you were getting on? As we were > resurfed on the same day it's nice to compare.
