I eat lots of oranges and apples plus other veggies but noting seems to help me in the constipation department so I end up turning to the stool softeners. I sure am willing to try other more natural things and I really like okra. Axelrod Re: 12 wk check up Jackie, WHere in MI are you? I live in the Detroit Suburbs, near Waterford... As far as constipation goes, there are a few things that work WONDERS for me!! The best one is eating a couple of pickled okra every day. My body sees that as pure fiber, and they are actually pretty tasty items! Also, Apple cider always does the trick if the okra fails its job! I have to drink about three cups of it (not all at once, but throughout a single day) before it helps (and doesn't make me dump by drinking it slowly). Give those a try... even though colace is considered safe, me-personally, would rather try foods like the pickled okra, just to be REALLY safe. Good luck!!
